As for CAL, that stands for the Cyberathlete Amature League. I haven't played in it myself, but N00b Unlimited has a team for it, team VoX. If you want to learn more about that sort of thing, talk to Easy Target. He's our CAL team leader. He could also watch you play and see if you're good or not.
