i am having trouble with a unknown hardware thing, i think its either graphics / sound card or CPU, my computer will lock up for 30-40 seconds then unfreeze, only happens when playing games that require high graphics (i have tried turning the graphics down aswell), reccomend what i should do, i have tried updating drivers for them and that didnt fix it

I wouldn't dump out the cash on a new pc. Just post your specs here so we can see what all you have. Its easy to get to, From the desktop go to start then my computer, right side"view system information" that will tell us your OS. CPU and speed. And RAM. Then for Graphics look down bottom right by the clock and see if theres a small red icon that says ATI Or a green one for Nvidia.

Either way i have a FPS config that i can send you that will set everything just right. Hell i put it on Rags old rig with a AGP card and a single core Pent cpu. And it was a huge Improvement.

Alienware: over priced

If you want a gaming rig build your own. =P

If you dont wanna build yourself just go like cyberpowerpc, or like buyxg or some other place. There cheaper than alienware. If you want some godly ass comp, go digitalstorm and buy the benchmark crusher for like 10g's haha

defrag your hard drive if you havent recently (or ever).
also
go download ccleaner. it cleans out temp files and other useless junk that'll bog ur computer down, especially playing games.

also, if you havent recently, scan for viruses, spyware, and other malware. Some types will sometimes decrease the performance of your machine...

try all that stuff and get back to me if you are still having problems...
