$560.97 and you get more processor, and more memory

if you went with a quad core its about 75 cheaper unless you went with this quad core
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103934 then its only 20 cheaper

personally I would choose amd over intel any day of the week, but Im almost like you are with amd... I havent had a lot of dealings with intel (what little I did have wasnt good)

I would have posted but you really don't want my advice when it comes computers. The only thing I know about RAM is that ender and pasties seem to know how to do it and they do it well ;)

I prefer AMD over intel for one, very simple reason.
Itel has hyperthreading. That creates a virtual core that is only up to 20% processing boost per core. So a Quad core with hyperthreading is really only a quad core with an extra core only capable of puling 80% of the load of the other cores. Hyperthreading cores are only worth its weight in business applications, IMO. Multitasking office work.

AMD's have hypertransport, and a very nice little thing that is too. For every bit of data Intel processes, AMD processes two.

Simply put..
Intel = good for multitasking
AMD= good for pure raw power. ^.^

I have a desktop running a 3.8 G Aircooled Phenom 2 Quad Black.
My two laptops have 2.0-2.9 G I7 quads.

I prefer AMD.

Mistype?
OR were you expecting more responces...?

siosios

underwhelming -> present participle of un?der?whelm

Verb:

Fail to impress or make a positive impact on (someone); disappoint: "American voters seem underwhelmed by the choices for president".
