A: Is it worth the $75? (I think that's how much it is.)
B: I have 2 hard drives. I keep all my programs (Steam, etc) on one with XP on the other. If I put 7 on the XP drive will it delete my stuff on the program drive? I get that I'll probably have to re-install everything, but will I lose like my skins and files and stuff?
C: What do I need for the x64 version to work? I have 2GB of RAM but what else do I need?

If you upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7 you will keep your items. If you like pick the other option (CPU Wipe upgrade) you will lose your shit.

My answers for your questions.
A. If you like the effects Windows 7 provides and some errors then yes. But I find Windows XP more suitable.
B. When you pick the Upgrade button during your process you will not lose your files.

I love w7. It's stable, fast, and far more secure than XP. I wouldn't ever go back.

I keep all my shit on another drive as well. You can install w7 on your primary HDD and all of your data should still be accessible. Check the minimum specs for w7 as far has CPU speed and GPU, but 2gb of ram would be enough to run it. You'll also need a x64 compatible processor to run a x64bit OS.

If you do upgrade, do a clean install. The upgrade option is worth shit (it's better than XP's upgrade, but i've never trusted it over a full wipe/fresh install).

Also, check out this link (Ninite Easy PC Setup - Silent Unattended Install Multiple Programs At Once (http://ninite.com/)). I haven't used it yet, but it might prove helpful. :)

Windows 7 didn't (unless something changed very recently) have an upgrade option from WinXP, so it would be a wipe and re-image either way since your on XP right now.

Windows 7 Professional, got four free copies (2 64bit, 2 32bit) from my college for free. I can't go back to anything inferior. It's just an awesome operating system.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm trying to see if I can get a free copy from the place I work. We just got like 8 new computers. Not sure if I can steal one of their keys.
