Seems to me like your on the right track. What Graphics card are you going to use? Also that processor you have is a hot bastard ! You will need a good CPU heatsink and fan for sure to keep that 125W cpu cooled down.

Dont forget in your budget you will need a OS.... Unless your a pirate lol
And the new SSD Hard drives out now let me just say WOW they fuckin SCREAM !!

My buddy Bailion just built a new rig close to what you layed out. You should add him to friends and ask him how he likes his new setup.

best of luck to ya and if i can help Hollar !

Alienware is good, but you spend an extra 2000$ on the name alone. Custom built is cheaper, and most times better.

check that out for a HDD. Bout 150 shipped, but it's a 1TB HDD with a legit copy of Windows7 Ultimate (x86 and x64) and a unique key. I can vouch for these as i have one currently installed and the w7 activated/updates no problem! Hell of a steal considering w7 ultimate (last time i checked) was $217!

good luck on building a new comp. i'm thinking about at least updating mine as well. it runs pretty nicely, but it's capabilities are so much higher than what i'm actually doing with it. unfortunately, i still don't as much as i'd like to do anything major. :/ research and learning ftw. have fun!
